4- من أجل تنمية الذات لا بد من وجود نوع من "معاكسة الظروف"؛ لأن السهولة عدو لدود لكل إبداع وكل تقدم إذ إن المشكلة ليست في عدم وجود التحديات بل في طريقة الإحساس بها. إن نعمة التكيف جعلت بني البشر يتلاءمون مع الصعوبات التي تواجههم تلاؤماً سلبيًّا.
5- البيئة الملائمة لها أثر كبير في تحقيق الذات؛ لأن البيئة الضاغطة التي تقيد الفرد بالقواعد والضوابط سوف تعمل على عدم تحقيق المسار الطبيعي لتحقيق الذات.
